Patiently Waiting (A Christmas Story)

“I want to go outside.” said Sally. Sally’s dog, Skip, sat by the door. Sally’s mom entered the room.

“Sorry you two,” Mom said, “It’s too cold.” It was only 6 days until Christmas Eve. Sally could not wait and wanted Christmas to come soon. Sally decided to put up decorations inside. Skip helped too! They hung up lights and garland. The next day, 5 days away from Christmas Eve, Mom drove Sally and Skip to a tree farm to pick out a Christmas Tree.  They brought it home and decorated it with plastic snowflakes, Santa ornaments, and little sparkly balls. The next day, only 4 days until Christmas Eve, Sally and Skip made Christmas Cards. Skip put a paw-print on each card. Only 3 days away from Christmas Eve, Sally and Skip couldn’t wait! Sally took Skip to go see Santa Clause at the mall. The next day, only 2 days away from Christmas Eve,  Sally and Skip wrapped presents that they had gotten at the mall. On the next day, only 1 day away from Christmas Eve, Sally, Skip, and Mom baked Christmas treats for Santa Clause. Finally, it was Christmas Eve! They set out milk and cookies and went to bed. Sally awoke and ran to her presents. Sally had gotten the doll she wanted! Skip got a bone! Mom got a shiny necklace! They all got just what they wanted because they waited so patiently for Christmas to come!

The End!
